Our Origins…
FROM HANDBAGS TO HOLISTIC SELF-CARE
Maisha Hodges-Miles, the founder and operator of
A Versatile You®, a woman and minority-owned business dedicated to self-care. With a background in Retail Management and a Professional Graphic Designer (BAS) and Design Consultant.
I founded A Versatile You® in 2016 while raising my family, originally creating handmade handbags for women and moms navigating everyday life. By late 2019, both my life and the business were changing. I was newly pregnant and beginning to explore candles, shower steamers and home products. Then the pandemic arrived.
Pregnancy during a period of isolation changed the way I thought about taking care of myself. Without the community and family support I was accustomed to, I began turning more intentionally to aromatherapy and simple self-care practices to create moments of calm and restoration. Those personal rituals became the foundation of the A Versatile You® you see today.
What began as something I needed for myself became something I wanted other women, mothers and busy people to have access to too.

We believe self-care doesn't always require an entire day. Sometimes it begins with finding 10 minutes. Our mission is to help people intentionally reconnect with themselves through sensory self-care, products, experiences and simple practices that can become part of everyday life. That philosophy is becoming the foundation for Find Your 10—our growing self-care initiative centered around identifying, protecting and intentionally using small moments for yourself.

At A Versatile You®, we specialize in creating non-medicated aromatherapy-infused essentials and cosmetic grade natural skincare designed to support holistic well-being. Our products are crafted with care to help individuals—especially women and mothers—manage stress, anxiety, and insomnia while nurturing their skin with gentle, effective, and non-toxic ingredients.
We Will:
Not use problematic ingredients to sensitive skin (i.e. parabens, aluminum compounds, formaldehyde, etc.)
Use Ethically sourced ingredients and locally sourced materials whenever possible
Handmake our products in small batches to ensure quality
Not test on animals
Minimize plastic waste - recycle, reuse and repurpose plastic materials
We believe self-care should be simple, intentional, and versatile. That’s why our collection is designed to serve multiple purposes, offering both instant comfort and lasting results.
